Hour-by-hour itinerary

9:00 AM – Pickup from your Jaipur hotel

Your driver picks you up at your Jaipur hotel, station, or airport. No advance meeting point needed.

9:20 AM – Amber Fort

Amber Fort is 11 km from the city center. Arrive early to beat the crowd. Your guide explains the Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace), the secret tunnel to Jaigarh Fort, and the Ganesh Pol gateway. Allow 90 to 120 minutes here.

11:30 AM – Jal Mahal photo stop

Stop for 10 minutes at Jal Mahal on the drive back. You cannot enter the palace. This is a photo stop only from the lakeside road.

11:45 AM – Hawa Mahal

Visit the 5-storey facade with 953 windows. Most visitors only see the outside. Your guide takes you inside to the top floor for a view of the old city street below. Allow 30 minutes.

12:30 PM – City Palace

Located 300 meters from Hawa Mahal. Your guide shows you the Diwan-i-Khas, the two silver urns (recorded in the Guinness Book as the world’s largest silver objects), and the peacock gate. Allow 1 hour.

1:30 PM – Lunch break (optional)

Lunch is not included in this tour, but your driver will assist you in finding a restaurant to eat at near the City Palace. Budget maybe ₹250 to ₹500 per person for a traditional Rajasthani thali.

2:15 PM – Jantar Mantar

Jantar Mantar is a 5-minute walk from City Palace. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your guide explains the giant sundial (Samrat Yantra), which is accurate to 2 seconds. Allow 45 minutes.

3:15 PM – Albert Hall Museum

Jaipur’s oldest museum houses royal weapons, carpets, and an Egyptian mummy. Entry is cheap at ₹40 for Indians. Allow 45 minutes.

4:15 PM – Bapu Bazaar and Johari Bazaar

30 minutes for shopping in the pink city markets. Buy block-print textiles, blue pottery, bangles, and spices. Bargaining is expected at most shops.

5:00 PM – Nahargarh Fort (optional add-on)

Add Nahargarh Fort for a sunset view of the city. The fort closes at 6:00 PM. There is an additional fee of ₹300 per car to include this stop, which is highly recommended from October through March.

5:30 to 6:00 PM Drop off at your hotel in Jaipur

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Does this tour pick up from Delhi?

No. This tour starts and ends inside Jaipur. If you need pickup from Delhi, see our 1 Day Jaipur Tour from Delhi.

What time should I book the tour to start?

9:00 AM is the best start time. Amber Fort is the first stop and gets crowded after 11 AM. An early start means shorter queues and better lighting for photos.

Can I see all 8 sites in one day?

Yes. We plan the itinerary by grouping sites that are close to each other. Amber Fort and Jal Mahal lie on the same route, while City Palace, Jantar Mantar, and Hawa Mahal are within 300 metres of one another.

Is the guide included or charged separately?

We can include the guide in the tour price, but we will charge an additional fee.

Can I customise the itinerary?

Yes. You can skip any site or add Chokhi Dhani (evening cultural show) for an extra fee. Call or WhatsApp us before your tour date to adjust.

What is the composite ticket and is it worth buying?

The Jaipur composite ticket costs ₹550 for Indians and ₹1700 for foreigners. It covers 9 monuments and is valid for 2 days. If you plan to visit Amber Fort, City Palace, and Jantar Mantar in one day, the composite ticket costs less than buying individual tickets.

What is the best time of year for this tour?

October to March is the best period. Temperatures stay between 8°C and 25°C. April to June is very hot (above 40°C). July to September is the monsoon season and some outdoor areas may be wet.
