Amber Fort is the first stop. Arriving before 10 AM avoids the peak crowd. Your guide handles entry ticket queuing at each site so you do not wait in line.
Hour-by-hour itinerary
9:00 AM – Pickup from your Jaipur hotel
Your driver picks you up at your Jaipur hotel, station, or airport. No advance meeting point needed.
9:20 AM – Amber Fort
Amber Fort is 11 km from the city center. Arrive early to beat the crowd. Your guide explains the Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace), the secret tunnel to Jaigarh Fort, and the Ganesh Pol gateway. Allow 90 to 120 minutes here.
11:30 AM – Jal Mahal photo stop
Stop for 10 minutes at Jal Mahal on the drive back. You cannot enter the palace. This is a photo stop only from the lakeside road.
11:45 AM – Hawa Mahal
Visit the 5-storey facade with 953 windows. Most visitors only see the outside. Your guide takes you inside to the top floor for a view of the old city street below. Allow 30 minutes.
12:30 PM – City Palace
Located 300 meters from Hawa Mahal. Your guide shows you the Diwan-i-Khas, the two silver urns (recorded in the Guinness Book as the world’s largest silver objects), and the peacock gate. Allow 1 hour.
1:30 PM – Lunch break (optional)
Lunch is not included in this tour, but your driver will assist you in finding a restaurant to eat at near the City Palace. Budget maybe ₹250 to ₹500 per person for a traditional Rajasthani thali.
2:15 PM – Jantar Mantar
Jantar Mantar is a 5-minute walk from City Palace. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your guide explains the giant sundial (Samrat Yantra), which is accurate to 2 seconds. Allow 45 minutes.
3:15 PM – Albert Hall Museum
Jaipur’s oldest museum houses royal weapons, carpets, and an Egyptian mummy. Entry is cheap at ₹40 for Indians. Allow 45 minutes.
4:15 PM – Bapu Bazaar and Johari Bazaar
30 minutes for shopping in the pink city markets. Buy block-print textiles, blue pottery, bangles, and spices. Bargaining is expected at most shops.
5:00 PM – Nahargarh Fort (optional add-on)
Add Nahargarh Fort for a sunset view of the city. The fort closes at 6:00 PM. There is an additional fee of ₹300 per car to include this stop, which is highly recommended from October through March.
